Cubs - Tigers Game

First of all - Happy (belated) Fathers Day to my dad and Kent! We love you very much!!

Kent emailed Rob & I on Friday morning to see if we could use 4 tickets to the Cubs/Tigers game on Sunday. Of course!!! Thank you so much Kent! Mike and Ryan came into town to go to the game and we had a great time! Our seats were great! Luckily the weather held out and they played the whole game with no rain delay.....and the Tigers won! They won by alot! The first inning was great; one homerun after another! Here are some pictures from the game. If I look like a lobster, that's because I fell asleep in the pool on Saturday and got so sunburned!! I am miserable :(

Baby Shower

Thank you so much to everyone! Rob and I feel so fortunate to have so many family and friends to help us get ready for Justin to be born! Here are a few pictures from Sunday.

We would especially like to thank our families for putting on the shower for us and to everyone who helped out by bringing food, helping set-up and clean-up, etc. Everything went really well and we were even able to get all of the gifts back to Chicago in one trip
with the Yukon! Aunt Connie wasn't riding very comfortably, but at least the ride to Michigan was roomy!

Thanks to Megan and Morgan for helping out with getting everyone drinks and filling out envelopes! It was a HUGE help! And thank you Jamie for writing down all of my gifts and who they came from....I am sure that you had writers cramp!!

Thanks to everyone who came to share this special day with us...it really means alot!



Justin's first Detroit Lions item is a Build-a-Bear from Uncle Ryan.... Lions and Tigers OR Bears, oh my! I think that if Uncle Mikey & Uncle Ryan have any say in the matter, he will be a Detroit Sports fan! Justin also got his first pair of Nike Shoes from Uncle Mikey and his first fishing pole from Grandpa Metzler!!!

He also got some Star Wars onesies from Grandma Brooks, Godsie and Ashley... Never too early to get him started!

Now we just need to paint and decorate the nursery! I'll post pictures of it when we finish!

Double Digits!

Double Digits in more ways than one.....

Justin is due in 99 days! Yeah! Finally down to double digits!

I had my doctors appointment yesterday. I had to drink the Glucola drink and then wait for an hour and they take blood. It's a test for diabetes I think? No fun! The drink was horrible :( Oh well...it's done! In the hour I was waiting I saw Dr. Kirson who is a new doctor to the practice, but one of three who could be on call when I deliver. She was very nice, so I feel better. I really like all 3 of them!

The other double digit is the weight I have gained so far!! At my May 2nd appointment it had only been 8 pounds the whole pregnancy, and yesterday it was 17 pounds!!!! Ouch! Dr. Kirson assured me that this was a growth spurt for the baby so that is normal, but I still don't feel better! My blood pressure and the baby's heart beat and everything are right on target, so she said there is nothing to worry about. However, if you see me eating more than one piece of Arnie's cake at the shower on Sunday, just remind me that I have to get on a scale again June 21st!
