SINGLE DIGITS......AAAHHH!!!!

It's all becoming really real!

Justin is due in 9 days, however at my doctors appoinment this morning the doctor said that he doesn't seem to think I need that long. He said that he'll be surprised if Justin is not born by Labor Day. I was supposed to go back to the doctor next Thursday (9/7/06), but he wanted me to change that to Tuesday and if there is still no baby I will most likely be induced! He said that Justin is already at least 7.5 pounds and that my body and the baby are both ready!

So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Eviction Notice

Mr. Brooks -This blog entry serves as your offical eviction notice from the following residence: The Uterus c/o Melissa Sue Brooks

You have 14 days to evict the premises, taking all of your belongings with you (fluid, placenta, blood, fat stores, and anything else you may have accumulated over the past 9 months). Failure to leave said premises by September 8th will result in a punishment to one of your relatives, your father, Robert Alan Brooks. Early departure from your residence is also quite acceptable and welcomed.Cooperation with this request is sincerely appreciated.

Sincerely,

Still nothing too exciting....

I went to the doctor todoay. It was a doctor who just started at WomanCare and could be on call when we deliver. I REALLY like her. She is only a couple years older than us and very fun! I am 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated. So...she didn't tell me to go to the hospital immediately like I was hoping, but at least there is some progress! She said "see you next week" though, so that wasn't a good sign :)

Kimmes is coming over tomorrow to spend the weekend with us...I am so excited! She was working in Peru, IL again and made her flight for Sunday instead of tomorrow. We plan on a relaxing weekend of going to a youth football game (Brandon & Blake play and Rob & Dave coach) and watching the NASCAR race like we used to do every week at the Theta Tau house!!

Have a great weekend!

Couple More....

Here are a couple of more. I LOVE the glider/ottoman; it's so comfortable!

I could not find any pictures that I liked anwhere. I was walking through Target and saw this in the card section; it's a gift bag! So I went and got a mat for it and a frame we already had....done for under $6! Not bad, huh?

Justin's Nursery

Here are a few pictures of Justin's nursery. Hopefully he'll want to come out soon and see it!!! It was hard to get good pictures because the room is not that big, but you get the idea!

I painted the letters myself! The clothes go all the way across his closet; he has more than I do!

LOVE the Nautica bedding....

Ignore the dirty window!!!

The Lions Bear is the Build-a-Bear that Uncle Ryan made for Justin's shower and the giraffe was made this weekend by his cousin Alec; his name is Softie :) Note the vest on the giraffe looks very similar to Grandpa Metzler's "crocodile hunter" shirts.....Rob pointed that one out! :)

A mirror to make sure that the face I'm making when I go to get him out of his crib is one I would want to see....especially in the middle of the night!

Not much is new around here. Our friend Scott (he was in our wedding) is here from Arizona for work, so we are going to go out with him tonight. Then tomorrow we are getting a new stove. The oven died in the one we have, so this is a good excuse to go from gas to the flat top electric stove I've been wanting! Thursday is our next doctors appointment so I'll share how that goes on Friday!

Have a great week!

No Fun News

I had a doctors appointment last night, but nothing fun. I was hoping she'd tell me that I was dilated to 4 cm and should go directly to the hospital. No luck. She said that my cervix is softening, but she probably tells everyone that to make them feel better!

Yeah!!!

Tonight Kimmes flew into O'Hare and we got to hang out for a few hours before she headed to Peru, IL for work. It was SO GOOD to see her again! I think that she needs to move closer than New York! We hung out at our house for a while and then went to Jersey's for dinner. It was way too short, but ti was still good to catch up without typing or holding a phone! The waiter was trying to talk us into $3 bottles when we both ordered water....it's not like I am one month pregnant and nobody can tell. Come on!

Nothing much is new here! Rob comes home from his latest business trip tomorrow...I can't wait! Hopefully this is his last one for a while. His boss needs him home to help coach youth football and his wife needs him home in case she goes into labor!!

Hope all is well with everyone.....

Question for Moms out there!!!

Quick question....

Is there anything that you wish you would have had bought or had on hand when you brought your baby home from the hospital? I feel like we are all set with gear and supplies, but being that we've never been parents I just wanted to see if anyone had any advise or suggestions!

Thanks :)

35 weeks down & 35 DAYS to go!!!

At least that is the plan if Justin cooperates! I won't mind if he wants to come early, but anything after September 8th and I'm going to go crazy! Here is a picture at 35 weeks. He sure is moving around alot...not kicking, but I just keep feeling body parts move from one side of my stomach to the other. I am down to 2 shirts that actually cover my stomach; besides the ever lovely Old Navy wife beaters that I have in 7 colors!

Not much is new in Elgin. This weekend we have baptism prep class after 4:30pm mass on Saturday (3 hours!!!) and then on Sunday is my company picnic. I don't think I will be playing softball this year! Then on Tuesday Rob leaves for Las Vegas for 7 days for work. Hopefully the next 5 weeks will fly by!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
