One step closer?

My blog is private now, so I don't have to sensor anything - that includes work! It probably won't make a whole lot of sense in regards to the content, however you will get the drift! My boss copied me on this email so Mark knows I saw it too! There have been multiple emails back and forth and Mark trying to throw me under the bus again.....I was tired of it and stood up for myself and this is what came back :)

Mark,
I fail to see what you have been doing for the last several weeks. I have not been given status reports etc…..Certainly there is nothing being sold Quotes have been simple heat pump units etc. I have been leading Yorkville…because you have not…..…if you were so involved I would not have to be involved…. I will once state again,, for the last time……..this was your job…..period…..own it!....You drop a bowl of chicken shit in others lap and expect them to make chicken soup out of it. You do not communicate properly and you make excuses for your lack of involvement. I seriously question your commitment to your employment at Thermosystems,Inc. For you to make a statement the way you have here is beyond my comprehension. I have heard enough BS…..do your job or I will do it for you.

GREEK!

Yeah for no re-runs :) I love fall!

Happy story!

Some of you may remember a while back when I posted about our next door neighbors taking their dog to a kennel? They were supposed to take her on a Wednesday, but then she decided to wait until Saturday so her husband could go with her. On Saturday morning I got a call from the Tremls - our friends and old neighbors Tom & Lori. They love dogs and were upset when they read that on my blog, so they talked to a lady who runs the obideience class at PetSmart. She said she knew of a no-kill shelter in the area who might take her and if they would not then she would foster her. So Tom and Lori drove to meet our neighbors 1/2 way to get Cassie - they literally saved her from the kennel by less than an hour! Well, the shelter was full and the lady backed out on her word, so Tom and Lori fostered her for a little while and took her to adoption events, etc. They had some potential families that wanted her, but they were diligent and did home visits and refused to leave her with some of them! Finally, they found a family who lives on 3 acres and has some other dogs and 5 kids. They have a huge yard and a pool that the dogs all swim in :) Cassie is renamed Nala and has a new home where they can love her, train her and she can be a great companion like labs are mean to be!
Thank you so much Tom and Lori :) Cassie was lucky to have someone who cared about her well being and did something to help her!

Paisley Party Tour

Hello! Sorry; no new Justin pics - I'll try to get some tonight!

Last weekend Katie and I went to Chicago on Saturday for the Paisley Party Tour! We had a good time :) Brad is an awesome performer and puts on a great show, but I was bummed with our seats. They were not good. They were Row 13, but off to the side really far. Oh well; could have been in the lawn I guess. What was a real bummer was that when CW came out, there were SO MANY empty seats in the front - I'm talking like whole sections. Katie and I went up there just for Chuck's like 5 songs and got kicked out. It's so dumb - I understand that people paid for those seats, but we were just going to sit there for the first opening act....and not to mention they paid the same amount we did! Whatever, so after we almost got kicked out for trying to sneak to another section, we just gave up and sat in our crap-tacular seats. This is strike two at First Midwestbank Ampitheater in Chicago. This place needs a SERIOUS lesson from Pine Knob. They don't let you tailgate - in fact if you are in the parking lot after the gates open you have to be walking to the entrance...not even allowed to sit in your cars and hang out. Stupid place. Whatever...

We were both a little hungover on Sunday - okay one of us was a lot hungover :) It was fun to get away for a girls night out though! And to those of you wondering (mom and grandma!) - we took a cab between the hotel and concert :)

I wanted to get a CW hoodie made since all of his shirts they sell are ugly. There was a minimum order though, so I ordered them anyways and put them on ebay. I got 12 and only have 2 left! In 3 days! His mom ordered 2 of them last night and sent me this message today:

First off - Thanks so much for going to so much trouble to promote Chuck. He is our son - we are purchasing the sweat because we really liked the way they looked. Very cool !!! I will check around with everyone for sure - we are actually leaving to go up to Delaware on Thursday (too bad we won't have the sweats by then) and will let everyone know about them and tell them. Thanks again for all the trouble you are going through :-) I'll keep the sizes in mind - but I did see where quite of few from the message board plan on ordering also, so I'm sure you will be selling them all - - - Thanks again, Deb and John Wicks

Chuck told me on Saturday that he liked them too! Katie has a pic on her camera of him "promoting" them for me :) I need to get her pics! I hardly took any at all - here are a few. I don't have any of Jewel because I did not like her at all - she whines instead of sings for the most part....oh, and she yodeled (sp?). Was not impressed... Brad was awesome though as usual! He has more energy than I have ever seen in a performer - except maybe the NKOTB circa 1989 :)

The best part of the night had to be when we were leaving and saying good-bye to Chuck after the show. He asked Katie if she wanted a picture with him and she said "no - I'm not into celebrities...you put your pants on the same way I do everyday" :) He laughed and looked a little stunned at her response!

The Hills 8-25-08

Here are a few pics from the last few days... Not feeling very bloggy lately to say much.

What do you do when you have a toddler with endless energy? Take him to the park and tell him to run the bases like they do on TV - over and over and over :)

Keep going!

And then we ride home....to get mom and dad tired!

Potty training is going well! He's gone 3 days at school with no accidents - once and a while he has an accident at home. Usually it's when we are out playing and forget to ask him if he has to go. He does tell us quite a bit now though! Oh, and he stands up to pee now :)

Seriously, have you seen a cuter butt?

At the park some more!

No more baby slides/climbers for him. We might as well put his little slide on craigs list!

Back in Business!

Okay - we're back. I feel much safer with a private blog. There are just too many creeps out there and after finding a few checking our blog I started thinking of all of the potential situations. Like, if I put on here that Rob and I are going out and having a sitter - based on the info from our blog, some creep could come over (GT Hills is not that big and we have a pic of our house) and tell a sitter that he's a relative or friend that we've mentioned on here. Just too much information is on our blog that could potentially be used to harm our family if it was seen by the wrong eyes. I know that I am probably being overly paranoid, but if something ever happened I would not be able to forgive myself. Plus, after reviewing the stats more, there were multiple people looking at the "potty" picture and it looks like it was somehow linked to a kiddie porn site which sickens me beyond belief.....
On a happier note - here is a picture of Justin when he and mommy had a date Tuesday night. Daddy was not feeling well so we took our bike down to the river and rode along the riverfront and then got ice cream. We had a lot of fun!
Last night we all went bike riding. I got an speedometer/odometer so we can see how far we go. We only went like 3.75 miles, but I was ready to die! There were some hills and I do have an extra 30 pounds on my bike! We went to the park at the end of our ride and Justin was playing with 2 little girls that were there with their Grandma. He was playing with the younger one when her older sister (almost 5 years old) fell off the monkey bars. Her arm dipped down by her wrist and neither of us had cars at the park, so she called 911. There was a GT Hills Volunteer firefighter/EMT there literally within 1 minute; he must live nearby. They ended up taking her to the hospital in the ambulance because they said she either broke her wrist or both bones in her arm. Rob and I tried to keep the little sister (3 years old) occupied while they worked on her sister so she didn't get scared. Then we drove the Grandma and little sister home to get their car to go to the hospital. I offered to take the little girl to the hospital if the Grandma wanted to go in the ambulance, but then she realized that she didnt' know me from the creep down the street and said her daugther would kill her if she left the little girl with strangers! Other than that excitement it was a fun evening!
Katie and I are going to the Brad Paisley concert at Tinley Park this weekend - I am soooo excited! I hope we have good seats. I joined his fan club to get VIP tickets, but the problem is that you dont' find out your seats until you pick them up at will call the night of the show. They do this to keep the tix out of scalpers hands which is good, but I want to know where we are sitting! CW and Jewel are opening for him. Julianne Hough was supposed to, but she got called back to DWTS for one more season and had to leave the Paisley Party Tour. I wanted to see her sing, but maybe now CW will get a longer set!
Have a great week!

It just gets creepier....

So after analyzing our blog stats as far as who's on, how long, how often, etc. it just gets creepier. There is apparently someone in Europe who likes to look at our blog and every out click (what you are on when you close our page) is an enlarged picture of Justin on the big boy potty from our trip to Chicago. Seriously? Needless to say that pic has been deleted, but I am really disturbed by this.

Don't get me wrong - I know I have regular "stalkers" and I regularly stalk most of you....but to all of the weirdos out there - - - GET A LIFE. Leave us and our blog alone. This blog is meant to be something that Justin can look back on someday; not for some creep to look at cute naked baby pics.

Ugh.

Anonymous

I got this comment on my blog post from last week:

Anonymous said... What is your attraction to chuck weeks? How would you feel if your husband followed some hot little cutie around the country going to every show he can get too? I think you should be thankful for the gifts that God has given you and take care of your husband and your baby!!!! 2:07 PM

I am not happy. This blog is a place where my family and friends can come and see what is going on in our lives, watch Justin grow up in pictures and share our ups and downs of parenting. This is not a place for people to hide behind the cover of "anonymous" and slander our choices. Last time I checked, I did not open our life up to a debate on what is acceptable social activity and what is not. If you disagree, quit reading my blog.

What REALLY pisses me off is that this coward who won't even say who they are is making assumptions that -
1. I am not thankful for the gifts God has given me
2. Don't take care of my husband
3. Don't take care of my baby

You apparently don't know me - and apparently you don't know that my husband's line of work is computers and software - and apparently you don't know that I track every person who reads this blog. I know that you are on my blog for sometimes hours a day and then go to my best friends blog too. I know where you are at. You need to quit stalking me if you are going to make derogatory comments. Go find another website to search because you are not welcome to mine anymore.

I don't want to make my blog private, but I think I'm going to have to. Please send me your email address if you would like to continue reading about the latest happenings on the Brooks Family. melissamet at hotmail.com

You know who you are - because you've been back to my blog 4 times since your post - mind your own business.

Oh and you need to learn to spell and to use the proper form of words. Not only are you rude, but you are apparently not very bright either.

Weekend in Chicago!

We had a super fun weekend! We went to the Chicago Air & Water Show (well, the air part!) and then to my company picnic on Sunday. Here is the weekend in pictures:

Justin on Oak St. Beach

Justin getting ready to demolish whatever Blake had piled up!

Hmmm....wonder who taught him to kick sand - Papa, Uncle Mikey and Uncle Ryan!!!

Justin and Blake

Daddy and Justin watching the airplanes

Sporting the Oak St. Beachstro hat :)

I think we won the award for messiest table!!!

There were SO MANY people there! We were lucky - the Jacobs are friends with the owners of the Beachstro so we had front row patio seats with plenty of room!

Blue Angels

Uncle David and Aunt Connie...aaawwww :)

The palm trees and hot weather made it seem like a oen day caribbean vacation :)

Company picnic - the one in the middle is Rick - my supervisor

Justin watching Daddy bat

Putt-putt golf....we might try it again in 5 years or so :)

The Hills 8-15-08

Sorry I've been slacking! Rob and I are both busy working and I don't have any fun news or pictures to post. Grandma Brooks and Godsie have been here since Tuesday night helping us out since day care was closed yesterday and today. Huge help! Thanks for making the drive down here! Oh, I did go see a certain singer who shall remain nameless on Tuesday night. He was like an hour past where I was for work, so why not! I met up with a couple of girls that I met at the last concert. The pic is me and Sarah with Chuck. She's such a sweetheart! We're both wives, mommies and have careers, but still like to have fun! They live about 2 hours away from us, but I think we'll probably get together again sometime soon!

Me, Chuck and Sarah

Sarah and I could not stop laughing about something and I think we were distracting him :)

I promise I will on monday because we are going to Chicago this weekend. We are going straight downtown on Saturday morning for the Air & Water show and then on Sunday is my company picnic....then back to the grind of another work week!

Our calendar is pretty full though for this late in the summer! This weekend Chicago, next weekend is a girls night away with Katie, the weekend after that is Labor Day and I think we are going camping?, the weekend after that is Michigan for Amanda/Ryan's shower and Justin's birthday, that puts us into mid-september! That will be good though - make the time go by faster before football, cooler weather, Rivermen hockey, etc. start! :)

More on Monday!

Sunday Hockey!

Rob has been playing hockey every Sunday night for the last couple months. It's fun - especially now that the nicer rink has ice on it...the one he was playing on was not very fan friendly! Justin loves going - can't wait for Fall League to start! Oh, and Justin now knows what the "za-bonie" is :)

Where's Waldo - I mean Rob?

Watching Daddy play "hot-key"

Sweaty Daddy between periods

Mmmm...vanilla wafers and hockey - what more could a kid want? Other than 6 bathroom breaks....I kid you not, but he went every time!

Daddy waiting for some action down his way!

The Hills 8-11-08

Hello! Busy week this week, so here are a few pics to tide you over :)

Tomorrow it's off to Champaign/Danville for work overnight. Ugh. Oh well - I don't have to do it very often!

Justin was going to have a tough choice as it was picking between hockey, football, golf, tennis, baseball, etc. now he has swimming, gymnastics, handball, etc that he likes too! Thank god for the Olympics - sports on 24/7! We turned it on and it was boxing....we quickly changed it since he copys everything he sees. Too late though - he wanted to watch fighting. I don't think so buddy!

Justin with his new pack-pack :)

When your parents can't afford to build you a cool play set you just go to Menards and use theirs :)

The new firepit! Rob seriously had it done in like an hour. It looks great! We might get caps for the bricks since they have a lego top, but right now the top row is wedged in so tight and it's secure that I'm afraid the caps would be looser...we'll see!

No we didn't use lighter fluid :)

Katie, Josh Justin and Tucker

I wish he would smile normal once and a while!

Ignore mommy's lack of make-up and sweatpants :)

Hanging out after dinner

The finished product!
