I don't even know what to title this video - you get to hear him putting together his first sentences "I broke it", discovering his nipple and showing you his muscles (the original reason I got out the camera)!
Enjoy!

Happy thoughts....happy thoughts......
Okay, here is something a little nicer for the top of the blog, since we still don't know when (or if) we will be closing :( Thanks for the comments/emails/phone calls of support on the house thing. Rob and I went to BW's for lunch and 2 beers and 18 holes of Golden Tee later I am a little calmer. Katie & Josh are brining burgers over tonight for dinner, so that will be fun too! I don't know what we would do without you guys! It's so nice having friends in town who are there for us when thing happen - good or bad!
Tuesday was our 2nd to last night of swim class! Justin and I always have a lot of fun together. He makes me SO PROUD when he does everything she asks just like he's been doing it for years :)

Before class we play in the kiddie area - the water was pretty cold last night though so it wasn't as much fun as normal!

Me and my angel :)

Aaahhh...back in the therapy (warm!) pool for class!

He's getting so good at blowing bubbles - practicing in the bathtub must be helping!

We went in the family locker room after class and actually got a shower/changing room! I gave Justin the hand held showerhead and he loved it!

....it looks like the same pic as above, but it's about 15 minutes later - he didn't want to get dressed!

UGH.
I am afraid I'm going to go postal any minute. NOTHING is going right with this house transaction.
Let's take a step back to yesterday - I get a call from our attorney saying that they can't secure the transfer stamp from the City of Elgin because of an outstanding permit that was applied for. WTF? So I called the city and was told that this address applied for a permit to change the water heater in February of 2004 - BEFORE we bought the house. So they let the transfer happen for us to buy the house, but now they decide to do their job and hold us up. She said they could get someone out early next week. I told her that was not acceptable and she was holding up our closing based on an error that the city made - not us. After 3 supervisors, lots of F-bombs (I was not happy!) Long story short - the inspection was done and passed within 2 hours.
Fast forward to last night at about 8pm - our realtor calls and says that we still don't have a clear to close because of an issue with a social security number for one of the buyers (I think the one with 16 letters in the first name and 18 in the last name). He hopes it's a clerical error and we'll still close on time.
About 10 minutes ago I got a call from our attorney (keep in mind we're supposed to close in 2 hours) and the lender JUST found out that the buyer's greencard is EXPIRED!!!!!!!!!! WTF? You don't ask for his f-ing greencard until the day of closing??????? I am so mad. My blood is boiling and I think I should just not answer my phone today; I don't think I'd be very pleasant to my customers! UGH! So now we just wait? The lender was supposedly on his way over to the buyers house to see what can be done since he can't understand them without reading lips.
Oh, and this morning when I got my pumpkin head out of bed his right tube (that he's had surgery for twice) was out again..... LOVELY!

The Hills 4-29-08
Okay, I know - I've been slacking again! We have been having too much fun playing outside in the nice weather we had last week; it was in the upper 70's most of the week! Of course I won tickets on the radio for the Chiefs game for last night, and it was 33 degrees :( We didn't go! It was windy on top of that...
Not too much new is going on here. Our house is supposed to close tomorrow!!! It hurt so much to write that check to make it happen, but it will be worth it in the long run. I am excited not to have to pay double insurance, utilities, mortgages, lawn service, etc. Please keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well! We signed everything we need to, so we don't have to drive up there which is nice!
We are going to Chicago in two weeks for Alec's 1st communion. I am SO EXCITED to see my family! I wish I would have known 10-15 years ago what I know now. I would have definetly spent more time with them when we all lived in the same house. I love the new Trace Adkins song "You're Gonna Miss This". It's too late to relive the past, but I try to remember the message in the song before I turn on the TV when I could be on the floor playing with my baby! See everyone soon :)
We went to CEC since Justin got a giftcard in his Easter basket from Gramma and Papa. He loved it! He didn't make a basket, but he had fun trying! It was "more, more, more" - I think we found a game he likes more than skeeball!
He loves his passenger :)
From Chuck E. Wicks last weekend to Chuck E. Cheese this weekend! Justin liked the shows and getting close to the characters. He did get closer than this; I just didn't have the camera out!
Toddler Wack-a-mole. This game is a rip off because you don't even win tickets, but still have to use coins to play... And Justin just likes putting coins in the machines more than anything!
Sunday was pretty cool out, like in the 50's but it was still too nice not to play outside. We planted veggies and flowers most of the day! Justin and I walked down to the hardware store by our house and got some flowers - here he is lugging them home :)
Riding the new lawn mower with Daddy. Yes; I know that it says not to let kids ride on it, but it seemed safer than him chasing after it :)
Daddy said it was too hard to steer with Justin helping - maybe the backyard will be when he can ride since it's longer, straighter mowing than the trees and obstacles in the front yard!
Playing with the basketball hoop he got from Grandpa & Grandma Brooks for Christmas. They gave us two middle poles instead of a middle and bottom, but after about 1/2 hour, Daddy had it all jerry-rigged up to work!
We got tired of lifting him up and it was too cold outside yesterday, so we killed two birds with one stone!

Chuck Wicks Concert
Okay; I don't like negative stuff on the top of the blog for too long, so I will blog about the concert on Friday night! It was as far from negative as you can get - I had SO much fun!
I think that I had more fun before the concert though! I got to Santa Fe Station pretty early, figured I would play a little blackjack and hang out somewhere new. I went into the Chrome Showroom where the concert was going to be to see where our seats were because there was no seating chart when I booked them. When I walked in, Chuck's drummer Trey said "hi nice lady" and came over and we started talking. I told him I just wanted to see where our seats were and I'd be out of their way. Then he introduced me to the other guys in the band and Chuck's tour manager. They were all getting stuff set up and said to come back in about an hour for sound check if I wanted to. Of course I did! It was really fun; I was the only non-employee in there and they did a lot of songs. It was his first show using ear monitors so they were trying to get them calibrated. I got to meet Chuck and talk to him and the guys for quite awhile while they were fixing one of the feeds (I sound like I know what I'm talking about, huh?). They were all really fun and super nice! Unfortunately I don't have any pics from that becuase I didn't want to be "that" girl. I thought it was nice enough that they let me hang out with them, I didn't want to turn into crazy fan. I was surprised though because I had sent him a message on myspace telling him that I was coming to see him from Illinois and that we were having a mother/daughter date... When I met him and he asked where I was from I told him Illinois and he knew the story! He asked where my mom was and I told him at work still....then after the show, he said to her "you must be the mom who lives here in Vegas". I was impressed that he actually maintains his myspace and not his record label! For those of you who like Country music, I highly recommend his CD!
Our seats turned out to be perfect! We were in the 4th row right in the center. During "Mine All Mine", Chuck came down into the audience and sang right to me! I did let mom take a picture of that :)

Chuck!

"Mine All Mine" - one of my favorite songs!

Great seats!

Jerry his tour manager took this one up really close, but it turned out pretty good!

We had such a fun date :)

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay; a quick venting post and maybe later I will post about my vacation and some pics of Justin.
Vent #1: I made it home safely last night - I wish I could say the same for my luggage. There were two flights after mine and she said that I should hear from them by 8am with a delivery time for my bags....still no word; I really hope that it will be returned. I had my leopard print jewelry saver with all of my jewelry in there - dumb I know; lesson learned.
Vent #2: Our house in Elgin failed the radon inspection. I was not going to blog that we had a buyer for our house because I didn't want to jinx the sale, but it's getting screwed up anyways. We will now have to pay to install a mitigation system, plus the buyers have about 10 other punch list items. We are telling them that we'll do the radon system, but to go you know where on the other stuff - it's pretty minor anyways (sump pump back up battery dead, attic fan doesn't work - WTF we didn't even know we had an attic fan, they want a hand rail for the bottom steps below the landing to the basement - it's like 3 steps, and some electrical stuff)- and they are getting a fabulous deal on the house to begin with. Please pray that we can come to a fair negotiation and be done with this house! I just feel like they are being pretty petty considering the purchase price. We shall see....

The Hills 4-13-08
Hello! I don't have much time before my computer battery dies, so I am just going to leave you with a couple of videos and pictures! We had a fun weekend - Friday was the last Rivermen game...they were up 2-0 and lost 5-2. Hopefully they pick up some talent before next year. Could be worse....we could be Detroit Tiger fans :) J/K!
Saturday Katie and Josh brough over pasta, garlic bread and wine - we had a FANTASTIC dinner!!! It was fun to hang out with them again; it's been too long! Now that they will be living in Metamora, we will be together a lot I am sure!
Today we just hung out and chilled. It was a nice relaxing weekend. I leave on Thursday morning to go out to Vegas - mom and I are going to a Chuck Wicks concert on Friday. It's just a quick 3 day trip...Justin is staying in Illinois because I am flying out of Midway. 2 hours in the car plus a 4 hour flight at bad times would not make for a happy baby! Plus some mother/daughter time will be great - we have not had that since I was pregnant with Justin (laying in the ghetto pool in our backyard!) :)

Go Samantha :)
Samantha Fox (our friends Dave & Stacy's daughter) is quite the little star and was on CBS news this week! She is great friends with Abbey Curran who is Miss Iowa in the Miss USA paegent tonight - she is the first contestant with a disability to be in the competition! Samantha is also going to be in People magazine this week... We are so proud of you Samantha! You can do anything you put your mind to :) With all of your TV spots your Dad is going to need a new Tivo - you're filling it up!

bummer...
We were all really excited for Justin's first swimming lesson tonight! We got there about 15 minutes early and Justin and I played in the zero depth pool with the waterfalls and stuff - then at 6:30pm we went over to the therapy pool where they do the water babies to find out that it's cancelled because they just saw lightning outside :( It's big picture windows that look over the water so they had to close the whole pool. Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of an indoor pool??? Oh well. I will hopefully get pics at our class on Thursday!
