Justin's First NFL Sunday

Justin getting ready for the Lions Game! Uncle Ryan and Amanda bought him his first Lions outfit.

He looks so old here....not my little 3 day old!

So cute!

This was after the Lions game... Not a good start to the season!!!

First bath at home

Justin doesn't like his baths very much.... When we are done and cuddle him he is so content and alert; that is my favorite part.

Happy that Mommy is done washing him.

He was so cute and wide awake!

First day at home

My two tired boys!

He was so good on the drive home! He just looked around and didn't cry at all.

Grandpa & Grandma Metzler and the Jacobs had a stork delivered so the world would know Justin was born!

Justin meeting Quincy and Tucker for the first time. So far, so good...no problems! Tucker is very protective of Justin already. If he starts crying he goes and checks on him and if we don't run over to him, he comes to me and nudges me. We might have the next Lassie on our hands :)

More Pictures!

Justin Michael Brooks

He's here!!!! Justin Michael Brooks was born on September 7th at 5:37 pm. He weighed 9 pounds even and is 22 1/2" long. Everyone is doing well.

We got to the hospital at 7am and they broke my water at about 7:30 am. It took a long time to dilate to 10cm, but the actual pushing part was very quick! It only took 6 pushes and he was here!

He is perfect. Rob and I are very blessed to have such a healthy, beautiful baby!

Sorry if I have not called you yet....the last 24 hours have been very crazy! We are going home tonight, so I will be home if you want to chat!

My mom has a lot more pictures on her camera, so I will get some more pics posted in the next few days.

Have a great weekend!

Love,
Rob, Melissa and Justin

No Justin Yet....

Hi there! No baby yet. We went to the doctor today and are scheduled for 7am Thursday morning to be induced if he doesn't come before that. Today she scraped my membranes and I have been really crampy. I hope that might get things moving?

If you have tried calling me and I didn't answer, I'm sorry. My phone was ringing off the hook all weekend; I think I am just going to post my answering machine as "Not Yet!".

I will let everyone know he's here as soon as possible!!!

Nothing yet.....and a new job for my Dad???

No news yet, but not from a lack of trying! I have been on my feet all weekend trying to use gravity in my favor! We weedwacked, mowed the lawn, pulled weeds, walked the dogs, steam cleaned carpets, washed all of the blankets in the house, etc. I have been keeping busy!

On another note... I saw this morning that Steve Irwin aka "The Crocodile Hunter" was killed by a stingray today. So Dad, if your next "adventure" doesn't work out maybe you could take your crocodile hunter shirts and apply for his job :) J/K!!!! (Sorry; inside joke if you don't know my dad!!!) http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060904/ap_on_en_tv/obit_irwin

We'll keep everyone posted with any news!

LAST DAY OF WORK!!!

I am having a hard time imagining not going to work for 6 weeks. I am sure that it will fly by! I have 6 weeks off on short term disability and then 2 more weeks of working from home 4 days a week and in the office one day. After 8 weeks, I will be in the office 4 days a week and working from home one day a week. My Aunt Connie is going to baby-sit one day a week too, so we only have to do daycare 3 days a week. In the Chicago area we can't afford 5 days a week for daycare!!

Rob and I are both VERY excited. The waiting is so hard. At least with Christmas, you know when the date is...it never changes. The hardest part is knowing that at any minute I could go into labor; then being bummed when I wake up in the morning and nothing happened. Oh well; next week by this time I should be posting pictures of our newest addition!!!

This weekend our neighbors throw a party "Backyard Bash". We didn't get to go last year because we were out of town, so we are excited to go! They put up tents and have moonwalk jumpers for the kids, bonfire, etc. It's fun to see that even though we are out of college and "grown up", we don't have to act that way!

I will keep everyone posted! Say a prayer that we have a baby by Labor Day!!!!!
