Weekend with Grandpa and Grandma!

Here are some pictures from this weekend so far with Grandpa and Grandma Metzler. Most are of Grandma, Justin, Aunt Connie and Alec today at Woodfield. I had my LASIK surgery done, so I was in bed all day and my dad and Rob were painting the whole interior of the house!

Long weekend!

This post has lots of pictures from the last few days.

On Thursday night I went to the Sears Centre for the Taylor Swift, Ronnie Milsap and George Strait concert. It was a GREAT show and I liked Taylor Swift so much! She is such a sweetheart and signed autographs and took pictures with EVERYONE who wanted one. She was doing it for hours. I really think she's going to be a huge success and I love her new CD!

Saturday morning we dropped Justin off to Aunt Connie and Uncle Dave's for the night and went to Appleton for Katie K's wedding. Grandpa and Grandma Rosebush were in Chicago too, so Justin got to hang out with lots of family. I was sad to leave him overnight for the first time, but Rob and I had a great time at the wedding!

Jack and Melissa - fun times with old friends!

Kim and Barry on the school bus back to the hotel! All of the Lambda Chi's were making up words to "The wheels on the bus" the whole way home...I don't think I'll be teaching them to my son!

Kimmer, Shannon, Katie and Melissa....Family tree love after the reception. We went back to the hotel and used one of the conference rooms to hang out. I have never seen 12 pizzas disappear so fast!

We left Appleton Sunday morning at 9am. I am really glad my husband was nice enough to drive home. I have to wear my glasses because I am having LASIK done next Saturday and have to keep my contacts out until then. It was really sunny and that coupled with the fact that I drank like I was 21 again....let's just say I slept the entire 3 hour drive home!!

We came home and watched the Daytona 500 and just chilled out. Rob put Justin's highchair together...Justin likes it and can sit up really well!

He sat up much better than I thought he would!

Enough with the camera daddy!

I'm not gonna smile!

Okay...one time for Grandma & Grandpa....come visit me this week!!!!! I miss you!

Having fun in California???

Hi Mom and Dad! This post is for you...be thankful that you are in Marina del Ray instead of the Midwest!!! I worked from home today because the travel times were at least triple on the roads of Chicago this morning.

I personally love the snow and so does Rob. Our neighbors don't quite share in our enthusiasm!!!

Lori out snowblowing...hope Tom doesn't look at our blog and see the garage open with his Corvette in there!

Smile :)

I miss this weather! It reminds me of college...

Really wish we had a Yooper Scooper in Chicago!

Pool fun!

Friday on my way to work, the temperature reading on my car was once again zero degrees. I am tired of the cold weather with no snow. I don't mind the cold if there is snow to go along with it, but just cold is getting to be too much!

Rob and I decided to take a little road trip and stay at a hotel with an indoor pool so we could take Justin swimming for the first time. He loved it! There are some pictures below. Sorry; there would have been more if I would have checked our camera battery before leaving the house!!!

In other fun news, we (Rob) figured out how to use our webcam. On Friday night, we hooked it up and did a video phone call with my mom and dad (My mom's new laptop has a built in webcam). It was fun for Justin to be able to see them and they could see him. By the time we got it working, he was pretty crabby and ready for his bath, but at least Grandpa and Grandma still got to see him for a little while! He has been rolling all over the floor lately, so we're going to try to get him to do it on camera so they can see him! If anyone else has a webcam and wants to do a video call just let us know!

Again.... at least there wa no negative sign!!

Justin trying to decide what he's going to order on his first trip to Hooters!

Ready to go swimming!!!

Wow...this is a big bath tub!

Just chillin'

Mom...stop taking pictures. The girls in the hot tub are checking me out and you're embarrasing me!

Slacker....

Sorry; I know that I have been slacking on the blog...I have been really busy at work lately and that cuts into my blogging time! Just kidding for anyone at Thermo who may be reading this!!!

Here are some pics from Superbowl Sunday...the Bears losing was a bummer, but it was still much more of an exciting (and longer!) season than we ever had with the good ole Honolulu Blue! I realize that giving your baby a helium balloon is probably at the top of the "don't do" list, but we were watching him the whole time :)

Ready for the big game!

Trying to eat the balloon since the game was not much fun to watch!

Lover dogs :)

Also, this week he started rolling over at day care....I have yet to see it! Rob saw it when I was not in the room, my grandparents and Aunt Connie saw it yesterday when I was downstairs, everyone has seen it but me! Now it's a joke that he won't do it when I'm around. I told him that I was not giving him any more cereal or a bath until he showed me :)

Ha-Ha Mommy...I'm not going to roll over for you!

What do you mean you won't feed me until I show you I can roll over?

I know you're just kidding about the no food or bath thing, right?

Weekend so far...

I realize that most of my blog pics have been of Justin in his exersaucer, but he absolutely LOVES it! He is so happy and Rob and I love watching him discover new things...like turning the page on the plastic "book" or pressing the sound buttons on his own. And of course eating any part of it he can reach to his mouth!

Saturday night we went to BW3's and to a Hounds game with the Jacobs boys. We met a Theta Tau alumni there too that we had met at the house a while back. It was fun!

Justin wearing daddy's hat.

I believe he's trying to signal a touchdown??

We didn't beat him...he scratched his face on his zipper I think.
Brandon, Blake and Alec got autographs after the game.

I am making a pot of chili and some appetizer food for the Superbowl today. We are hanging out on our couch and watching our new 42" Plasma TV! It's way too cold to go anywhere with Justin!! It's not supposed to even hit zero degrees here today!

Busy week!

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Rob was gone all week and working full time and taking care of the baby alone leaves little time for blogging! Plus, I got a new laptop and don't know how to get on the internet at home because Rob has our network too secure!

Justin is doing great...he got his first tooth on Wednesday! He was not the least bit crabby either so it was a big surprise when I felt his gums and there was a tooth already through! The only thing that made me feel his gums was the fact that he almost chewed the arm off of his Pooh Bear rattle :) It's really little and you can hardly see it, but I will try to get a picture this weekend!

Justin and I are SO EXCITED for Daddy to get home! He just called and he is getting on an earlier flight so he should be home by dinner time...yeah! We miss him so much when he's gone.

Have a great weekend and GO BEARS!!!!
