The Hills 7-21-08

We had a fun weekend! It was miserably hot outside, so we were indoors for the most part, but we made the most of it! Here are some pics :)

Justin and Ms. Shannon - we found out that she's leaving PALS to go to another day care....we're going to miss you Shannon!!! Come back and visit us - you can babysit Justin anytime you're bored :)

Ms. Tenisha, Ms. Shannon and Ms. Ericka - Justin's favorite teachers from Toddler 1!!!

Ms. Ericka is moving up to the 2 year old room so Justin gets to have her again starting August 18th - yeah!

Haning out (after a few drinks!!!)

Ericka playing Guitar Hero - I have a video of Tenisha doing it too..I have to upload that one. Her and Justin got the same score :)

Justin was such a good bartender - making sure nobody was thirsty!

The best part about the night - a great friend who realized that Melissa drinking 4 margarittas when I don't really drink anymore was going to be a major hangover....and she didn't want me to wake up to a messy kitchen - I love you Katie!!!

Justin still thinking he's a build a bear :)

We went to the Chiefs/Loons game - game was fun, but we lost! After the game they had a "diamond dig" for a $1000 diamond. You had to answer 3 questions correct on a trivia sheet and put your name on the back and then they drew names. There were 50 people total and thanks to having Google on my phone to answer the questions correctly, Rob was one of them! He didn't find the diamond though...bummer :( They told everyone not to dig outside the baseline - and then it ended up being where the umpire stands...outside the base line. Oh well! It was fun and there were fireworks after the dig!

Sunday morning we woke up and went to Target where we FINALLY got Mario Kart! I am horrible at it..... Justin is better than me :)

We of course picked one up for The Adams Family too! Katie emailed me and said that they played for 6 hours when they got home from playing for about an hour at our house :)

The Hills 7-16-08

What's new? Not too much, but since I know that Katie is bored at work I'll give you an update :)

Yesterday when Rob picked Justin up at PALS, his teacher said that he only had one accident and it was her fault becuase she was busy with another kid when he said "potty".... they said that he even asked to go a couple of times - yeah! We are so proud of our big boy; I hope this keeps up!

He is talking SO MUCH! He cracks me up with the things he associates/remembers. He got Rob's wrench off of the counter and told Quincy to sit down for toenails - he thought it was the clippers we use. :)

Friday I am having a Tupperware party at our house - I am so excited! It won't be huge, but I have 6 or 7 for sure coming and a few more maybes. A few of Justin's teachers are coming and I can't wait to see how he reacts with them at our house. I think he's going to be a big show off :) Also, if any of you like Tupperware, let me know and you can place an order! Or you can make the long drive from Michigan, Vegas, Wisconsin, Washington, and anywhere else to come to the party! :) We're having margaritas and corona and lots of yummy food!

I think that's about all - here are a couple of pictures from last night.

Watering the flowers - such a big helper!

I'm not going to smile - this is serious stuff mom.

Gotta get closer....no wonder the flowers don't look so well - last time he did this it was on a jet spray!

I can not believe that he has the upper body strength to do this! He didn't just do it one time either! He did it for about 20 seconds and Rob and I were laughing so hard I didn't get a picture, so then he did it again for the camera.

Our little monkey!

Ugh.

This bunny picture is cute, huh? I will spare you the picture of the 1/2 a bunny left laying out by our shed. I was upstairs and the dogs were both laying out by the shed being good...not like them, so I should have known something was up. I went out there since they would not come when I called them and I was treated to seeing a bunny carcass. The legs and head are still there, but not much else. I am so grossed out right now. I think they are going to live in the basement for a month or two because I don't want them around me. I hope it doesn't make them sick either :( They had to have caught it - our yard is fenced in and I don't think we'd just have a dead bunny laying around. I hope they don't live under our shed because I really don't want to ever have to see one of those again.... I could not even get rid of it because I was barefoot and didn't want to get too close to the carnage. :( Why couldn't this have happened when Rob was home??? :(

Visit from Gramma!!!

We had such a fun week with Gramma!!! Sorry the blog has been neglected, but we were having too much fun to get on the computer :) It was WONDERFUL - when Rob and I would get home from work there would be dinner ready, the house spotless, the laundry done, and the baby happy! Potty training also was a HUGE success so far! He still has a few accidents, but not many at all. We put a pull-up on him when we are going out somewhere that won't have toilets readily available, but almost every time it was dry! He is even going #2 in the big boy potty! This morning he said "potty mommy" and ran to the bathroom - went pee and I asked him if he was done. He said no and sat there longer and he went #2 - ALOT! I don't think that much ever fit in a diaper! He doesn't even like the little training potties or the seats on the big toilet. He just likes strattling the big toilet! Whatever he wants - it's working! Rob and I are so proud of him!

Eating the cookie batter

Helping Gramma "stir"....he was on a sugar high when we got home!

A few of his balls in a box! They would put this box under the basketball hoop and shoot them all in and then empty it and do it again!

Mommy and Justin at Splashdown waterpark

Doesn't he look old here???

Looking like he's ready to go to Walmart in East Peoria :)

Helping Gramma vacuum the floor

Eating sugar at Olive Garden - it kept him busy for a while :)

Aaaww... Gramma and Justin at Olive Garden

silly faces!

Popsicles!

Justin's new favorite "hat"

Cutie!!!

He likes to "fake" sleep and we tell him "awww baby justin is tired".....

His new Scooby Doo Underoos from Gramma!

Tired at Splashdown!

Chuck E. Cheeses!

Gramma and her little buddy

Playing in the pool

This is when he woke up from his nap and Gramma was gone. He fell asleep in the car and was totally out when I had to drop her off. Poor kid didn't understand where "Grad-ma" went. He only cried for about 2 hours. We'll see how tonight goes. She slept on a matress on his floor all week because he would NOT go to sleep without her! The first night he was awake yelling "Grad-ma" for almost 2 hours and finally we decided he was not going to sleep without her!

We love you so much Gramma - I wish the miles didn't keep us so far apart! Come back soon and next time bring Papa too :)

Tuscola 4th of July festival

We had a fun long 4th of July weekend! Friday, Katie & Josh came over and we grilled burgers and hung out outside most of the night. Then on Saturday we went to the outlets, CW Concert and watched the fireworks (see pics below). Justin was not too fond of the fireworks at first, but he liked them after a while. After they were done he said "that was fun daddy" :) After the concert we waited in line for a picture with Chuck - just as it was our turn in line, the first firework went off. So the picture of us didn't turn out so well! Oh well - Justin liked the concert, especially towards the end. He was on my shoulders clapping the whole last song!

Gramma's plane was almost 90 minutes late yesterday, but she made it! She's going to be tired out and ready to go home tomorrow I'm sure...Justin is going to wear her out! He had fun watching her airplane come in.

I'm sure I'll have more pics later this week!

Happy 4th of July!

We hope that everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!

Tonight Katie & Josh are coming over and we are going to grill out and play in the yard. Katie won 1st place in the baggo tournament at work, so maybe she can give me some lessons :) I don't think we're venturing down to the fireworks in Peoria. They are good, but the thought of fighting the other thousands of people does not sound like much fun! Tomorrow we are going to Tuscola, IL to do some outlet shopping, the Chuck Wicks concert and then they have fireworks there! And Sunday we are SO EXCITED to see Gramma!!!

Potty training is going pretty well! He of course has some accidents, but he has also said "potty" and then made it here before he pees a few times too! In the yard last night, he said "potty" and ran towards the house and he did have a little bit wet in his underpants, but he still went a lot on the potty - almost like he started to go and realized that he was doing it. I think we are definetly making progress! This morning we went to Dick's, Sams Club and Kroger then to lunch and not ONE accident!!!! I took him potty at Dick's and that was it. We are so proud of him! We made him a "big boy chart" and hung it up on the bathroom mirror and he gets to put a sticker on it each time he goes. He seems to like that part!

Here are some pictures from yesterday! We went to BAB Workshop after work/school and he made a dog and we got big boy underpants for the doggy! The other pictures are of our baggo champ in training :)

PT in the Hills

Well - here goes nothing! Rob and I decided that it was time to go ahead and give potty training a try. I know that he is pretty young, but at school he always wants to go on the potty and he actually goes. Plus, he always looks forward to bath time becuase he makes sure we are watching him and then he pees. One night he peed in his hand - on purpose. He can stop going and turn around and go more and he laughs the whole time. So we though that if he can stop it and control it like that, it's worth a shot. So we have 12 pair of big boy underpants, a potty in both bathrooms and lots of shorts!

Last night as soon as he got home we put big boy pants on him. He went in the potty like 4 times - two of the times he said "potty" and then went. We even made it to Walmart, shopped and went to Culvers for ice cream! He did go a little at Culvers, but I think it was my fault....Rob was going to take him potty before we went home and I said "If you go potty you get an M&M"...so he went right then and there. I guess I need to be more specific!

Wish us luck! It helps that Gramma Metzler is coming to stay for 7 nights! What she doesn't know is we're not letting her leave until her mission is complete :) Even then we might lock her in our house! She said if we ever had twins she'd come be our nanny - Rob is hoping for twins in our future!

Here are a few pics of Justin in his big boy pants!
