What a little trooper!!!

Here are some pictures from this morning at the hospital. When they wheeled him back into the cubicles from the recovery room he was on a normal size bed/gurney and he looked so tiny laying there! He was all curled up with his little butt up in the air. By the time I grabbed the camera he was crawling over to me, which is what the last picture is.

He's been really good all day considering what he had done. He took a nice long almost 3 hour nap this afternoon and then we played and ate some dinner and played some more. The only incident was when I was changing a poopy diaper this afternoon....I didn't have enough hands to clean him and hold his hands and he reached down and touched himself and SCREAMED. I felt horrible :(

Every night when Rob or I tell him "let's go to bed", he runs over to the babygate at the bottom of the stairs and waits for us to let him crawl up. Tonight was no different, we got him a clean diaper and then he reached for his crib. We got our kisses, put him in the crib and he grabbed his tiger and waved goodbye to us. Not a peep! Usually he goes to bed really well, maybe a few little whimpers, but it was so sweet tonight when he waved goodbye and we didn't hear a sound out of him. I think that he likes his bed and his bedroom!

Give Justin a hug and kiss for me and tell him grandma and papa love him and
miss him a ton.

The last picture looks so sad. So I'm naturally curious -- why would they have to redo that particular surgery? I didn't realize they ever did it more than once...

Hi Heather! He had adhesions, where the skin was attaching to the head. The pediatric urologist told us that when they teach new doctors how to do the procedure, they tell them to error on the side of leaving too much skin if the baby is wiggling, etc. So they basically didn't take enough skin off the first time and it was as if he never really had it done.

Sorry if that was TMI for anyone!!!!

Thanks for the clarification! :) (sorry if I was intruding but I'd just never heard of it being done twice!) I hope he recovers quickly!

I love the last pic of Justin. I too always thought Brynley looked so small when she was in that HUGE crib.

Every night I do the same thing and say "ready for bed" and the girls hurry to the gate and crawl up the stairs. It is funny that Justin does the same thing!!!

Glad everything went well. The same thing happened to my friend's little guy. They had to wait until he was 3 years old to do it because the insurance wouldn't cover "cosmetic surgery". So glad that they let you have it redone when he was so little!
