Maternity clothes...ugh.

I am having a heck of a time with clothing these days. With Justin, I didn't start showing until around 18-20 weeks and it was pretty warm out, so I could go right to the Old Navy wife beaters with the black 1/2 shirt that ties right above the belly and then black capri gaucho (sp?) pants. Uber comfy. This time around, my belly has been getting larger since around week 7 or 8. Ridiculous! I have lost weight since I found out I was pregnant, but my belly keeps growing daily. I desperately need maternity jeans, but I can't find any that are long enough :( I ordered longs on the Old Navy website and was so excited to get them...only to see that they would only be long enough if I chose to wear my pants like they do in the south side of Peoria. No thanks. I have been wearing yoga pants everywhere and I feel like a slob! I did buy the bella band that you put around your waist so you can unbutton your regular jeans - and that does work if I wear a sweater or sweatshirt, but if I wear anything form fitting at all you can see the seams and tell the pants are unbuttoned.

I am thinking about taking a couple pair of my normal jeans into the seamstress who did my bridesmaid dress for Ryan & Amanda's wedding and see if she can turn them into maternity jeans. Maybe if I bought a pair from Motherhood Maternity of what I want them to look like she could do it?

Or I can just live in Yoga pants until summer comes and I can go back to my standard uniform of the capris and wife beaters :)

Anyone have any suggestions on where they found Tall or Long maternity jeans? Gap has some, but they were out of my size.

All I can say is that I hear you! I had the same problem with the bella bands showing too much, and I haven't yet found a pair of pants that I find at all flattering. I am not nearly as tall as you but have long legs and most of the pants even on me are short and/or tapered - cute. Although, I was at kohls over the weekend and found some dress pants that were too long and am having them hemmed. I like the idea of making regular jeans into maternity ones, like in the movie Juno. Good luck!

It's a splurge, but have you tried shopbop.com for designer jeans - which always run long .... http://www.shopbop.com/maternity/br/v=1/2534374302100811.htm

You could also try a pea in the pod - but again, expensive! good luck :) I'm glad I'm not tall LOL

I was 24 weeks when I wore maternity clothes for the first time with Ava, and with Noah, I had to make myself wait until 10 weeks. Like I was miserable for 2 weeks though, so I probably should have started wearing maternity clothes at 8 or 9 weeks. Uteruses apparently have quite a good memory about how to pop right back out once they've done it once:)

You could check ebay for some of the brands Heather mentioned....

Good luck with Gap, their maternity pants are great, but I think I have the longs which means they are not going to be long on you:( I know indy's cousin is 6' plus and she had to make her own maternity pants. I don't think it was very hard though so I bet that seamstress could do it.

Gap was the only place I found maternity clothes that fit (length and comfort/cute fit). And their longs were too long when I wanted to ditch the heels and wear comfy sandals/ballet slippers. We're about the same size/height, so hopefully they'll re-stock soon! I'd send you mine, but we're hoping I'll be prego with #2 by this summer...

Congrats again, and good luck finding clothes - being tall and prego sucks!
