I can't believe Mason is one month old today! This month has gone by pretty quickly. Mason for the most part is a really good baby. He's not quite as content just being left alone as Justin was, but if you're cuddling him and holding him he's happy :) I really think that part of the difference is that Justin was formula fed and stayed full longer where Mason is hungry all of the time. Thank you to everyone for your comments and emails on my last post. Things are still up in the air right now about which way we're going to go. I called the lactation consultant and she recommended nursing every 60-90 minutes. That is not practical for our family. If I were a stay at home mom without a 3 year old that would be a great plan - but I have a career, a toddler, etc. I don't want Justin to resent Mason if I'm feeding him all.of.the.time. We'll see - I know that a lot of people have strong opinions on this issue one way or another, but I have to do what is right for us. I decided on Friday that I was going to stop nursing, but then I got sad about losing the mommy/Mason time and started again. We will see how it goes. I just ask that since this blog is open to close friends & family that you support whatever decision I make. I don't want to feel like I can't blog about what is going on for fear of being judged.
On to more fun topics - Mason went to his first professional sporting event yesterday! We went down to St. Louis for the Blues pre-season games against the Stars. It was fun! It was fan fest day where they had inflatables, activities and autograph sessions. The lines were SO long for autographs though that we passed on that part. Mason did really good at the game - he slept through most of it! He woke up when the goal horn went off (really loud!) but he just looked at me and went back to sleep. Justin did good too considering he didn't take a nap all day!
Speaking of Justin - we are having a little problem with him. On the way to St. Louis he peed in his pants on the way down. He has not had an accident in SUCH a long time! Then this morning we went to Walmart and he did it again - then he pooped in his pants twice after that. What the heck? I know that some people have said that kids sometimes do that when a baby comes along, but it's been a month and he has been absolutely fine. I'm just sad because we don't want to punish him, but we can't let him think it's okay either... We are at a loss for what to do.
I have a few (very few) pics from St. Louis that I will post tomorrow. It's harder to take pics now that I have a baby in my arms all of the time!

Ohhh, what a bummer about Justin and accidents. I have no idea what to suggest. Like you said, he has been dry for so long, so do you punish or don't you??? Let me know what you decide or find out. The girls are both wearing underwear, but they aren't trained yet so I don't scold them. I typically do the "ewww" where does pee pee go or where does poopy go or I'll ask why they went in their pants instead of the toilet? I don't know if this would work. My sister might have some suggestions since she has 3 potty trained.
With regard to the whole breastfeeding thing...you need to do whatever is best for you and your family. We're here to support you. :) *Hugs*
Hmm... I have heard of kids doing things like that after a sibling is born (Evelyn wanted to go back to getting bottles when Noah was born). Not sure what to do about the potty training though...
Please don't allow yourself to stress too much about the bf-ing... Mason has already gotten a ton of good stuff from your milk - I think they say the first week or two are the most important time to breastfeed. I echo Randi -- you need to do what is best for you and your family... and only you are able to make that decision. I am sure everyone will support your decision without any judgement. You are a super-mom either way -- and don't ever forget it!! :)
awww, I hope no one will judge you about your decisions on how to feed your baby, you're a great mom to both Justin and Mason...and you certainly deserve to be applauded for giving this so much effort and consideration:)
Whatever you choose to do for your family is what's best for your family! You know them best!
Ava stopped peeing all together when Noah was born, and then gave herself a bladder infection, and once she had that she wouldn't get off the toilet. We just had to down play it to finally get her to stop, but it was so frustrating and heartbreaking while it went on.
