Bear Down, Chicago Bears

This weekend was a busy one! Grandma Brooks came on Friday night and we were on the go all weekend! She outfited us in some new Chicago Bears duds for the big game today....thanks Grandma!

On Sunday we went over to the Jacobs to watch the Bears game - GO BEARS!

As some of you know, Rob LOVES when I sing the Bears fight song every time they score....although I only know two lines from it! I need to learn the whole song in two weeks so when the are Superbowl Champs I can sing it all. For those of you who would like to sing at your own Superbowl Parties, the lyrics are below :)

Bear down, Chicago Bears, make every play clear the way to victory;
Bear down, Chicago Bears, put up a fight with a might so fearlessly.
We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation with your T-formation.
Bear down, Chicago Bears, and let them know why you're wearing the crown.
You're the pride and joy of Illinois,
Chicago Bears, bear down.

Here are some pictures from today...

Sick again....

This poor baby. I feel horrible having to take him to daycare because he keeps getting sick. Daycare called yesterday and said that he was coughing more and wheezing badly, so Rob and I took him to the doctor last night. He did not have a fever and his pulse-ox (oxygen level in his blood) was at 100%, so that was good news. However, when she put the stethescope up to his chest and his back he was wheezing ALOT. She even had Rob and I listen to it. She could not believe how bad it was for such a happy baby! He was smiling at her and talking to her...not acting sick at all!

They had us do a nebulizer treatment at the office...not fun. The pictures below do not even come close to depicting how unhappy he was with this treatment. He SCREAMED for the whole 10 minutes. I hope we don't have to do that again. They prescribed him a liquid medication that she explained is basically a liquid form of an inhaler; just to help him breathe better. She said it's viral and there are not antibiotics or anything to treat it, but these meds are just to help him get through it.

Below are some pics from at the doctors office last night....this is the most he's ever cried! I felt so bad for him. I remember having to wear the oxygen mask all day during labor; it's not fun!!!

Motocross on Saturday

On Saturday night we went to BW3's and then to Motocross with the Jacobs Family. It was a lot of fun! The Sears Centre accidentally sold their box seats to someone else, so they put us in the Sears Suite....oh darn! It had leather chairs and plasma TV's and best of all our own bathroom!

Here are some pics.....

Quincy with special guest: The O' Jays

As some of you know, Quincy is a huge fan of The Apprentice....he LOVES the theme song. Ever since he was a puppy, whenever he would hear the "For the Love of Money" he comes running and likes to sing along. When people were over at our house though he would not do it! I finally caught him on tape.... enjoy!

1/2 way to rolling over!

Hello! Sorry I have been a slacker on the blog lately. Working full time and going home to a husband and baby keeps me busy enough! The full time working is not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's hard, but in a way I like it better. I don't feel like I always need to be available when I'm at home. This way, I go to work and I am 100% employee, but when I go home I ususally don't even take my computer. My evenings/nights/weekends are my time to be 100% mommy.

Can someone tell me how to post videos? I took a video with my digital camera and it's a .mvi file. Please help!

Here are a few pics from the last couple days!

He fell asleep right after I finished changing his diaper. It's getting harder though because we can't just leave him on the couch....he's too close to rolling over!

Speaking of rolling over...he has not done it yet, but last night we thought he was going to. His top half rolled over! He was so funny the way he was twisting himself around to look at the dogs.

If only he could learn to get the leg over he'd be on his belly!

Mommy....why are you and Daddy laughing at me??? :)

4 month check-up!

Justin had his 4 month check-up today with Dr. Bedingfield. He is doing great! He is 26 1/4" long and 17 pounds even...that is 90th percentile for both. He's back on the charts!

I told the doctor that we have been feeding him cereal at night; right after he told us to hold off on solid foods until 6 months. Oops. I don't care; it gets him to sleep longer at night and he likes it! He also got his shots...he didn't cry for more than 10 seconds - he's a tough guy! And mommy didn't cry as hard this time either!

I'm too sexy for my shades....

I'll humor you for a few pics mom....

Hmm....how can I reach that dragonfly hanging from the ceiling???

Okay Mom - put the camera away!

Great night!!!!

Rob and I could really get used to more nights like last night!!!! I am getting out of work a little earlier everyday from now on to be able to avoid the 5pm traffic, so we were home and eating dinner by 5:30pm which was very nice; usually it's about 7:30pm! After dinner we played with Justin for a while and fed him some cereal. He is SO funny with the cereal. The first few spoonfulls he SCREAMS when you take the spoon out of his mouth to get more food. I think he's just used to the bottle where it is constant feeding. Anyways, he ate his cereal and Daddy gave him a bath. He went to bed at about 8:30pm.......and did not wake up until 5am!!!!!! That is the longest he has ever slept by far! I woke up at 4:30am and panicked and ran in there to make sure he was breathing!!! I gave him a bottle at 5am and he went back to sleep! We are keeping our fingers crossed that this was not just a fluke and the cereal might help keep him fuller through the night! He has his 4 month doctors appointment on Saturday morning so we'll see how big he is!!

He loves "playing the slots". When he spins them we cheer and he gets the biggest smile on his face!!

I love the feet on these PJ's...

The miracle sleep aid??

Uncle Mikey - sorry I had to ruin the pic of him in the WMU bib you got him with my U of M sweatshirt :)

Happy New Year!

We hope that everyone had a fun New Years holiday! We just laid low and relaxed for the most part! We watched football all day and then went to the Duffer's party to watch the Bears game and hang out. Other than the horrible football game, the night was very fun! I even managed to make money playing games...usually I am the one who donates it!

What a difference a year makes. I was at Jewel Osco on New Years Eve day getting stuff to make appetizers and drinks. I had a flashback to one year before that when I was buying the same stuff...plus a pregnancy test! It was exactly one one year ago on New Years Eve that we found out we were having a baby! Now we can't imagine our lives without Justin. It is amazing how one year can change your life so much!!!

Here are some pictures from this weekend....

Catching up on the days scores and highlights!

All that football makes a boy tired....he fell asleep on Daddy's hand!

Have no fear...he's not down for the count; just a little cat nap at Duffer's to make sure he could make it to midnight!! I love the way he is laying here :)

Helping Mommy win her game!

Our first New Years Eve together!!
