On the move!

Well, I don't know if I would call it "crawling" officially yet, but he definetly gets where he needs to go! Last night Rob and I had a pizza for dinner. I had him on the bed next to me sitting up and I was giving him little pieces of crust. Apparently he didn't want just crust because when I turned my head he made a dive for my plate...and got it! He was so proud (as you can tell below).

It's hard because he does not have a ton of room in our hotel to crawl around. It's been really nice out here, so we have been going for walks at night and then by the time we get back it's time for his cereal, play a little bit, take a bath and go to bed! He really seems to like his new daycare though...although he misses you Ms. Melissa, Ms. Anna, Ms. Caroline and Erin!

He got new shoes this weekend since his chubby feet don't fit into the Nike sandals that are his size (his size length wise anyways!), so we got him Skechers that look sort of like Crocs - they fit him so good and he could not get them off! He wore them to daycare on Monday and they lost one. How do you lose one shoe for a baby who can't even walk? Oh well - I am hoping it will turn up!

Other than that, not much news. We have had 3 or 4 showings this past week, but no offers :( One person wanted 4 bedrooms, one person wanted oak cabinets, etc. Hello! Don't you read the listing before you look at the house? Oh well. It only takes one person! Thank you Lori for mowing our lawn for us!!! We appreciate it!

Here his is just after his attack...notice the ranch on the bed!

So proud!

Of course hands covered in ranch dressing earns you another bath :)

Cardinals vs. Astros

On Saturday morning, we headed 2 hours south to St. Louis and went to Busch Stadium for a Cardinals vs. Astros baseball game. Rob has always been a Cardinals fan, so it was nice to go see the new stadium - It's beautiful! Much nicer than Wrigley :)

The weather was beautiful, the seats were great, Justin was being good - the only down side was that they lost the game 13-0!!!! Friday they won 3-2, Sunday they won 3-1 but Saturday was a complete bummer!

I wish Justin was looking in this one! It was just a random person on the street though, so I didn't want to bug them to take a bunch to get the perfect pic!

The people next to us left after they were down 9-0, so Justin got his own seat.

Daddy and Justin

I love how you can see the Arch over the scoreboard.

Pujohls up to bat... but he couldn't get a hit to save his life! The farthest any Cardinal player got was to 3rd - one time.

This is what Justin thought of the score :) We still had a great time though!

P.S.

I was so bummed with Grey's last night! They hype it up to be a 2 hour show, when actually it was about 30 minutes of Grey's and the rest starting the storyline of the new spin-off that they are doing with Addison's character. Boring!

Just checking in...

Hello!

Nothing much new here to report. I just got back last night from Chicago. I had to go Wed/Thurs for work. I didn't think I would have to go this week, but some stuff came up and I had to make the drive. I am happy to be back here with my boys though!

Justin and I were going to go to MI this weekend for Kim & Ryan's wedding...I am bummed because I really wanted to go! Justin has recently started not liking riding in the car. I am hoping this is temporary. On the way to Peoria last Sunday, he screamed the last hour or so - nothing helped. I tried giving him a bottle, toys, pacifier - no go. He just did not want to be in his seat! The thought of 7 hours of that to get to Michigan is just something that I don't think I can handle. Plus I just drove to and from Chicago for work...lots of driving! I looked at flying, but that was $600 and I am not sure how to do it by myself. I would have to carry Justin, luggage, and a full size car seat?

We will be planning a trip to Michigan sometime soon!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Bad day turned great!

Good News! I LOVE Justin's new daycare.... He starts tomorrow. The director is great, the program is great, the place is really nice - I am so excited!

Tonight we went on a family date to a Peoria Chiefs game (they are in the same league as the Loons, Whitecaps, Cougars, etc). It was such a beautiful night! We left in the 6th inning because Justin was getting tired, but when we left it was still 76 degrees! We sat in the 2nd row behind the dugout - we splurged and spent $10/ticket :) The expensive seats! It was a fun night!!

He wanted his own seat...and then wondered why he couldn't get the bolt heads off to play with them.

Beautiful evening for baseball in downtown Peoria :)

Mommy caught a frisbee - Justin was pretty pleased as you can see!

Ryne Sandberg (former Cubs player) is the coach for the Chiefs.

My morning thus far.....

Trust me - I spared you the worst part!

Proud of his handywork. If he wants a bath, he can just say "Mom - I'd really like a bath now" :)

Hope the daycare visit goes better than the morning has started out!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly....

The Good
We made it to Peoria!

We are all settled into our little studio hotel suite. It's not too bad - it has a full size refrigerator which is more than I was expecting! Couldn't live here for TOO long, but it will be alright for a while.

The Bad

DOWNTOWN DAY CARE!!! It was horrible. I figured that with it being in the Chase Bank Building, it would be nice since the parents work there. Wrong! Either that or they just have extremely low standards. We got there and first of all - it's in the basement of the building with no sunlight. Oh - and no keypad entry or front reception area - come one come all to grab a child...nobody will stop you! It's all concrete walls, indoor/outdoor carpet and ghetto decorations. There were no mats, pads, etc in the infant room - are they supposed to crawl around on the hard surfaces? There was no sink in the room - where do they wash their hands? What was the crusty stuff on the changing table? Oh - and the kicker...they had his name in foam letters above the crib with the "N" backwards. The director said to one of the teacher in the infant room...oh, the "N" is backwards - the lady said "no - is that backwards?" Hello!!! If you don't know what way an "N" goes I am pretty sure you are not qualified to watch my child.

So I left him there from 8am until 10am (I didn't want to leave him at all and I was bawling). I went at 10am and said that Rob found out that he would be working off hours and not out of work until 6:30pm (they close at 5:30pm). When I got there to pick him up, one of the teachers (who can't spell) put a baby in her car seat and gave her a bottle - the baby started drinking it and the lady said "oh, uh-huh, I am not gonna sit here and hold dis fo ya" Nice...and that is with a parent in the room! Hopefully I can get my deposit back, but even if not I am not taking him there!!!

The Ugly

I have been on the phone all day looking for another day care and almost everyone has a waiting list. Rob's HR lady did recommend one that has one opening - it's not a convienient location, but if it's nice we will take it. I am on a few waiting lists for other ones in a better location so we'll see what happens. I'll keep you posted!!!

Weekend pictures!

He's not really naked here - he is wearing a diaper!

The Beauty Queens came to sign autographs for the boys -I love this picture...nobody wanted to be the first to bombard them like they were doing with the players!

Here you go Dad!

Hello! Here are a few pictures from the last few days. Are you happy now, Dad??? :) What did people ever do before digital pictures and internet?

Thing here are going pretty good. They would be better if we could sell our house! The market is SO SLOW right now. I can't believe that we are semi-moving in 4 days. I say semi-moving since we are not moving ALL of our stuff and we'll still have a house here. I will consider it a full move when we don't have a place to come back to in Chicago. Plus I am still coming back here every Wednesday/Thursday for work until at least June 1st. Could be worse - they could have made me stay here until then and Rob and I would not be together so I'm not complaining!

Other than trying to figure out what to pack and keeping the house clean hoping for showings, not much is new!

Sup dawg?

Who needs toys when you have hangers???

He is so happy every morning!

How many toys does one baby need in a tub??

We went to dinner last night and here is our
big boy in a high chair...He's so good when we
go out!

You're a funny guy daddy!

I'm too cute :)

Getting mobile!

Justin has been moving around better and better everyday! He's rolls EVERYWHERE, and is beginning to scoot around on his belly. We really have to watch what we leave laying around now!

Music man!
Justin's Great Grandma and Grandpa Rosebush were in for the weekend to see Brandon's play, and they brought Megan and Morgan along too! They didn't leave Justin alone for one minute all weekend!

Great Grandma, Megan, and Morgan at Blake's soccer game.

Justin was excited for the warm weather to finally show off his new Cardinals hat and outfit. And he was even happier to see the Cardinals take 2 out of 3 games from the Cubs this weekend!
