Week in Michigan

Here are some pictures from Justin's week at G&G Metzler's house in Bay City. He had lots of fun, but it was SO GOOD to get him back. We missed him so much!!!!

Manning the door at Great Grandpa & Grandma's house

Great Grandma got more kiss than she bargined for on this one :)

Hanging out with my Great Grandpa!

Me and my Grandma....I love you! Hope you are feeling better soon!!!!!

Waiting for Grandpa to open up my new "Battop" - I love it!

He loves slamming the top shut. He has always liked our real laptops, so G&G thought he should have one of his own :)

Getting Aunt Amanda's strings...he loves strings!

Notice all of the bread is out of the drawer and thrown on the floor!

Breakfast during my last morning at G&G's house. I had so much fun and I want to go back soon!!!!

It's not just for storing toys - it's a good seat too :) I want to get this one made into one of those picture statues where the do the cut out of just the body...doesn't it look like he's ready to do some karate or something??
He learned how to do "SO BIG"....you tell him that and his hands to up in the air and he stands on his own - it's so cute! I think he might also be signaling "TOUCHDOWN!" getting ready for Joey to start for the Falcons :)
Uncle Mikey and Justin....
If you are feeding him something and you say "Is it all gone? Let me see" - he sticks his tongue out to show you that he chewed all of his food :)
Uncle Ryan and Justin :)

Here is a video from when Justin was at Grandpa & Grandma's house in Michigan. I have a lot more to post from that week, but I LOVE this one :)

Not much new!

Sorry I have not updated in a few days - nothing to really update! I guess this shows what 99.9% of my posts are about :)

Yesterday I was in Champaign, IL all day for work. My boss and I presented for all of the facilities engineers at the U of I. It went pretty well! I am hoping to turn that account into a gold mine! When I got home around 7ish, Rob and I went to see "I now pronounce you Chuck & Larry"....it was really funny!

Working today and then at 5pm we're off to Elgin to meet my parents and get our baby back :) Tomorrow is my company picnic and we'll be heading back to Peoria on Sunday. I am sure I'll have new pics up on Sunday or Monday.....

I miss my baby :(

I can't believe that this is the 3rd day that I have not seen Justin :( I know he's having fun in Michigan, but it's still really hard! I don't know what to do to occupy the time that I should be making bottles, bathing him, changing him, dressing him, playing with him, etc. I even miss the mean glare that he gives us!!! Only 2 more days and we get our little angel back! Saturday is my company picnic and I can't WAIT to show off my little man! Most of my co-workers have not seen him since he was a week old!

Rob and I have been doing some of the things that we don't do with a baby...like playing blackjack at the casino in town, going to BW's with Katie and Josh (okay, so we do that with Justin too!), and tonight I think we are going to see the movie "I now pronounce you Chuck & Larry". Fun times! It's weird too because I have been sleeping so much more soundly knowing that I don't have to listen for Justin. When the alarm goes off it hits me like a ton of bricks!!! I would much rather wake up to go snuggle my little buddy!

Give Justin smooches from his Mommy and Daddy!!!!!

Happy to live in Illinois!!!

I am really glad that the smoking ban passed! It's so nice to be able to go to a restaurant or bar and not come out smelling like an ash tray!!!

_____________________________________________________________________________________

CHICAGO - Illinois smokers are in for a cold winter.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich signed legislation Monday making Illinois the latest state to ban smoking in public places — including bars, restaurants and work places. The law goes into effect Jan. 1.

Chicago and dozens of other communities already restrict smoking, but the new law trumps local ordinances that are weaker or that exempt businesses with air filtration systems, state health officials said.

Smokers will still be allowed to light up in their homes, cars, at retail tobacco shops, in certain motel rooms and outdoors. If they get caught smoking in a public place off limits under the new law, though, they could be fined up to $250, and the business could get a $2,500 fine.

"This law will save lives," said Blagojevich, who signed the measure at Chicago's Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Supporters have highlighted the health dangers of tobacco and second-hand smoke in pushing for the ban.

Bar owners and smokers weren't so pleased.

"I feel like it's the Nazi regime coming in here, talking away all of our rights, said Tim Main, as he cleaned up Mike's Ten-Pin Lounge in Alton. "First they make it so you have to wear seat belts, and now they want to put a stop to smoking. What's next?"

Chicago carpenter Rob Nelson saw a chilly future. "It looks like I'll be spending a lot of time outside," he said.

Videos

Here are a couple of videos from the weekend.

The first one is of our little bully!!! He needs to learn to be nice.... Maybe Blake is not the best teacher :)

This one is of Justin motoring around in his new Jet Ski! Notice he is talking towards the end - but it's dadadada....not mama :(

Weekend in Kalamazoo

We had such a GREAT time this weekend in Kalamazoo. My Aunt Cathy and Carl were in town from Florida and we have not seen them since our wedding, so everyone headed to Yingling's house in KZoo for the weekend. We had a blast. I did not put make-up on or have to do my hair once...it was a relaxing weekend of hanging out on the lake, swimming in the pool and just hanging out. This post has TONS of pictures (in very random order!) from the weekend - a compilation of our camera, my mom's and Carl's. I am going to put all of the pics on CD's and get one to each family so if you want to print pictures you can!

Justin and I left on Thursday evening....Rob had a big project at work he was working on and could not leave until Friday after work. This is what Justin and I drove into about 45 minutes outside of Peoria - it was one of the coolest skies I have ever seen! There was lightning too, but I couldn't get a picture of it!

Justin got SO MUCH attention all weekend! Here is an idea of how many people were there to play with him at any given time :)

Grandma Metzler and Justin - he's all tuckered out!

Morgan ready to go out for a ride!

Me, Morgan and Alec tubing

Brandon, Amanda and Blake after tubing

Brandon Blake and Carl

Uncle Mikey and Justin - He LOVES the Flavor-Ice popsicles!

Great Grandma Rosebush feeding him cheese popcorn! He loved it!

Playing in the pool!

The Rosebush Family - Grandpa, Mom, Aunt Cathy, Aunt Connie, Grandma, and Aunt Michelle

I got sick on Saturday afternoon :( It was not fun! My stomach was killing me...really crampy. Then on Saturday night Megan got it and on Sunday Aunt Cathy got it and a few other people didn't feel "right". There was no common food though that everyone ate - we must have just passed a bug around!!! It was short lived though!

Grandpa Rosebush and Aunt Cathy hanging out on the beach!

Hmmm....how can I get one of my cousins to get me another one of those popsicles??? :)

Justin motoring around on his new jet ski! There is a video that I will upload soon!

Megan and Justin

Mikey and Sandra

Dad and Tom with life jackets on and a jet ski....this can't be good! :)

Daddy and Justin playing by the lake!

Grandpa, Grandma Metzler and Justin

Justin loves the bubble machine that Aunt Amanda and Uncle Ryan got for him!

Fun in the sun!

Dad getting ready for another day at the lake.

Justin and his Godmother - Aunt Connie!

(Note that once again he is eating a popsicle!)

Flying Alec!

This was taken after Daddy and I told Justin he could go stay with his Grandpa and Grandma Metzler for the week. I am sure he's having fun and getting spoiled!

I miss him so much, but I think this picture says it all!!! Uncle Ryan had to work and was not in KZoo this weekend, so he gets to hang out with his uncles more too, and see his great-great grandma and probably swimming with some cousins his age!

I just hope that they bring him back this weekend like they promised!!!! :)

Basketball superstar???

Not too much time to blog - I have to go pick Justin up from daycare so we can go to the park! Here is a cute video of our little athlete in the making :)

Have a great day!

Go Joey!

The excerpt below is from a Yahoo Sports article about Michael Vick being indited on dog fighting charges.... I predicted this would happen way back when he was first charged - Go Joey :) (For those of you who don't know, I am a huge Joey Harrington fan despite what my husband, brothers, grandfathers, uncles, etc have to say about him!!!!!)

"If Vick is suspended for any length of time, the Falcons are likely to turn to backup quarterback Joey Harrington as the starter. Regardless, Vick's progress under new coach Bobby Petrino is expected to be thwarted as he deals with all the legal issues associated with the indictment."

Even if this does not mean that Joey starts, I hope that Michael Vick becomes someone's little "pet" in jail - he deserves it! With the evidence they have I don't believe in the whole 'innocent until proven guilty' theory.

Latest Happenings....

Not too much going on to report in Peoria....

On Friday since Rob was sick, Justin and I went out on a date. We met up with Katie & Josh at the Heart of Illinois (HOI) fair. It was very fun! Justin loved it because he loves being outside in his stroller. We saw tigers, elephants, a zebra, goats at the petting zoo (his fav!) and lots of horses! They had the CUTEST elephant show too - they painted a picture, played basketball, did some dances, etc. I loved it! I really wish Alec could have been there with me; I know he would have loved it too!

On Saturday Daddy was feeling a little better, so we got up and went to the dog park and then to the Farmers Market. We got the BEST sweetcorn! It was so yummy! Then we went to the mall for a bit and got some great deals at Macys! We got an Adidas sweatshirt for Rob, 4 summer wine glasses, 6 high ball glasses (like the DT only hard plastic), and for Justin we got a Nike tee, PJ's, and a sweatshirt jacket all for under $40!!!! I was pretty proud of our deals :)

Then the rest of the weekend we just pretty much hung out and played with Justin, Quincy and Tucker. Lots of walks, some pool time and grocery shopping - exciting stuff I know!

Yesterday my boss was in town looking for an office for us. He found one and we all went to look at it after lunch. I really like it! It's a bit small, but there is a back section that is not finished that would make it the perfect size. I think that he is going to be signing the lease soon! It will be nice to have an office to actually go to everyday. I thought I would like working from home, but it's really hard. It's hard to work when you have other distractions. This office is right next to a day care facility too. Literally if I go to the picnic table behind our office it faces the playground for Rogy's Learning Center. It looks nice - I went through another Rogy's facility when I was looking but they were full. I might switch him when we get that office. When we do eventually buy a house, he won't be going to where he's at now anyways because it will be really far out of the way. We'll see!

I am SO EXCITED for this weekend! I know that it's going to go by really fast, but it will be so good to see everyone!

It's a stormy day in Peoria right now! It got really black out and some cool thunder and lightning. The boys are mad becuase we haven't walked yet, but I am NOT going out in this!!!!

Have a great day!

Okay - let me get this straight... You put these plugs in my ears that I don't like, you make me wear a hat that I don't like and you still want me to smile???

He needs to learn to throw them - not chew them :)
